After a month of searching, Jormungandr has found four bands that you should check out.
1. Bison BC. Sounds like Mastodon without the craziness.
2. Samothrace. Sounds like Black Sabbath swimming in cold tar.
3. Sweet Cobra Sounds. like the Sword and High on Fire had a baby.
4. Intronaut. Sounds like a mix between Yes' Close to the Edge and Metallica's And Justice for All.
Go out and buy these albums!

A few notes on these bands:
Sweet Cobra - absolutely love these guys. They have a few hardcore, punk and Motorhead elements to them. And the singer sings with emotion prevalent in 90s hardcore music. But the music has sludge/stoner elements a la the Melvins and High on Fire. Just a unique, excellent listen.
Samothrace - jeez, where to begin. Just a slow, drawn out, dirty sound. Growning/growling singing is only intermittent. I initially like the sound because it reminded me of Weedeater, but after a few listens it has some of the atmospheric elements of Jesu or Earth. Excellent.
